Overview:
In this hands-on leatherworking class, teens learn the fundamentals of working with real leather while creating functional and stylish handmade projects. Students are introduced to essential tools and techniques, including cutting, stamping, painting, stitching, and finishing leather.
Throughout the class, participants design and create their own leather items such as keychains, magnets, and coin purses. Teens learn how to safely cut leather, add texture and designs through stamping, and bring their pieces to life with leather paints and finishes. Emphasis is placed on craftsmanship, creativity, and proper tool use, while encouraging students to personalize each project.
This class builds patience, problem-solving skills, and confidence as students see a project through from start to finish. No prior experience is required—all materials and tools are provided. Perfect for teens interested in hands-on making, design, and traditional craft skills.
*class supply fees including leather, paint, and tool kits that will be taken home at the end of the semester are reflected in pricing

*Families involved in this class will be asked to sign a code of conduct agreement so that they know there is an expectation to act responsibly during instruction at PPS.
Timeline
This class begins January 16th, 2026 and runs until May 1st, 2026 . This class runs every Friday from 1030am-1120am with a class break (no school) the week of March 23rd for a total of 14 classes.
