Overview

¡Hola, Mundo! introduces students to everyday Spanish through interactive lessons, games, conversations, and hands-on cultural activities. Students will build a foundation in useful vocabulary and simple sentence patterns while gaining confidence speaking and listening in Spanish.

Throughout the semester, students will also explore the traditions, foods, music, celebrations, and daily life of Spanish-speaking countries. Creative projects will help reinforce language skills while encouraging curiosity and appreciation for Hispanic cultures.

Learned Skills:

  • Use common Spanish greetings and introductions

  • Share basic information about themselves

  • Recognize and pronounce Spanish letters and sounds

  • Count and use numbers in everyday situations

  • Identify colors, days, months, weather, and classroom objects

  • Use vocabulary related to family, food, clothing, and hobbies

  • Ask and answer simple conversational questions

  • Build basic sentences using common words and phrases

  • Follow simple spoken and written directions

  • Improve listening comprehension and pronunciation

  • Participate in short partner and group conversations

  • Explore the cultures and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries

  • Build confidence using Spanish in practical situations

*Families involved in this class will be asked to sign a code of conduct agreement so that they know there is an expectation to act responsibly during instruction at PPS.

Timeline

This class begins Sept. 2nd, 2026 and runs until Dec. 9th, 2026 . This class runs every Wednesday from 1030am-1120am with a class break (no school) the week of Nov. 25th for a total of 14 classes. total of 14 classes.
